Easter egg hunt a hit even indoors

Thursday, April 12, 2018

The Village’s annual Easter egg hunt, held on the Saturday morning before Easter, was a success despite some rainy and cold temperatures that rolled into town. Due to weather, the event was forced to shift gears and move to the backup plan by heading indoors at Forsyth Public Library. Library staff acted as gracious and hospitable hosts for this fun community event.

Volunteers held signs for the different age groups, and as kids entered with their parents, they found the appropriate location for collecting some yummy, candy-filled eggs. Even though plans had to be changed, attendees still had options: They could get in a visit with the Easter Bunny, and/or collect a prize from the prize table.

Village Event Coordinator Shauna Bohlmann sends a big thank you to a list of people who helped make the event a success: Adam Lewis (starring as the Easter Bunny); Becky Alsup and Sherry Parker (for working the prize table); Trustee Kerstin Trachtenberg, Kerry and Laura Denison, Loes and Hannah Padrutt, Nina Wright, Evelynn Bohlmann, Logan Parker and Jenna Tolley (for holding up signs); Daryl and Grayson Dougherty; Marissa White, Laura McCauley; and the Public works guys — Larry Coloni and John Newell (for acting as setup crew).
