Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings
- Get your safe riding season kick-started at the Annual Blessing of the Bikes at Coziahr Harley-Davidson, 150 W. Marion Ave. in Forsyth, coming up Sunday, April 23, starting at 2 p.m. This is the event’s 25th anniversary and will proceed come rain or shine!
- Decatur Christian School has begun open enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year. This includes preschool through 12th grades. DCS staff is passionate about “equipping Warriors for Victory through Excellence, Relationships, and Service.” DCS’s Christ-centered classrooms prepare students for the future, and many graduates earn significant scholarships to colleges of their choice. - A reminder that the Community Foundation of Macon County’s deadline for its online application for the 2017-2018 academic year is midnight Friday, March 31, 2017. High school seniors who reside in Macon County and have been accepted at an accredited college or university and current college students are encouraged to apply. Foundation scholarship funds will provide over $70,000 for academic year 2017- 2018. Scholarship awards vary in size from $250 to $6,000. Apply at www.endowdecatur.org. - The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, March 20, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
