Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • Family Fest is coming up faster than you think so at this time of year we start getting teams together to help with planning. If you would like to be in on putting together the BIGGEST annual party in Forsyth — the weekend of June 15-16 — please contact Village Events Coordinator Shauna Bohlmann by email at sbohlmann@forsythvillage.us, by phone at (217) 433-3922 or by text at (937) 901-5370. Volunteer opportunities are available in several main areas of Family Fest, including: 5K, parade, food vendors and Saturday activities. Teams are forming now so come join the fun, and let us know where you would like to help!
  • The Macon County Sheriff’s Office has issued a SCAM ALERT involving phone calls from scammers pretending to represent Ameren. If you receive a suspicious call about paying your Ameren bill, get help at: www.ameren.com/customer-service/stop-scammers.
  • The Village of Forsyth and Burdick Plumbing & Heating continue working to change out all water meters in Forsyth. Please give Burdick a call at your earliest possible convenience at (217) 519-1702 to arrange a time to change your meter. Currently, a small number of homes have not responded to Burdick’s requests. Public Works Director Larry Coloni plans to contact each of those homes by phone or notice.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, February 5, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public. υ
