Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • At the March 19 meeting, Trustee Bob Gruenewald noted that Village Treasurer Rhonda Stewart’s report to the Board showed an increase in sales tax revenue for two consecutive months over a year ago. January’s figures were up $18,000; while February’s were up almost $20,000.
  • The Village’s free tree limb pickup service continues every Monday until the last Monday in November. Limbs must be less than 8 feet in length and less than 10 inches in diameter. Have tree limbs at the curb by 8 a.m. on Mondays. No landscape waste, tree trunks or tree root balls.
  • Forsyth Spring Clean-Up Days are coming April 23-27. The neighborhood schedule for pickup will run in the next Village Vision. No landscape waste, oil, hazardous chemicals, paint, tires, household trash or railroad ties. Free curbside pickup begins at 7 a.m. daily.
  • Scholarship deadline: March 31. The Community Foundation of Macon County is accepting online scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year at High school seniors in Macon County accepted at an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply as are current college students.   • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, April 2, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
