Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • Come out to Maroa-Forsyth High School to see a production of The Music Man. Performances are: Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 14 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $7 for students and senior citizens to $9 for adults. For more information, call (217) 794-3463.
  • Get June 16 on your calendar for the Family Fest 5K, 1-mile and tot trot. More info coming as event gets closer.
  • The Village of Forsyth turns 60 this year. With that in mind, the theme for this year’s Family Fest is “Forsyth’s 60th Birthday Party!” We are looking for people born that year — 1958 — to be grand marshals in the parade. Even better, anyone born on Forsyth’s actual birthday of May 22, 1958, will receive an honorary place on the float! Please contact Shauna Bohlmann at sbohlmann@forsythvillage.us, (217) 433-3922 or text her at (937) 901-5370.
  • The 2nd Annual Forsyth Community-wide Garage Sale is Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Village residents participate in this event with an eye toward cleaning out garages, attics and basements. The Village promotes the event to the public. Participants may open and close their garages at their convenience. For more information, contact Shauna Bohlmann.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, April 16, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
