Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • Get your running/walking shoes warmed up and ready to go! The Forsyth Family Fest 5k/1 mile/tot trot is Saturday, June 16 at 7:45 a.m. Register at Village Hall or online at Fees: $15, $7.50 and $5, but deadlines and late fees apply after June 1.
  • In the law enforcement report on April 2, Macon County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Lilly reported that there had been burglaries on two consecutive nights at three stores at Hickory Point Mall. Perpetrators cut through the stores’ gates each time. Lilly also reported that three Fairfield Inn guests had to be removed from the property for fighting. At the April 16 meeting, Lilly reported that people who had parked vehicles on the grass at diamonds 4 and 5 were asked to remove them. He hadn’t seen vehicles parked on the grass since then.
  • For the past week, many Village residents have been immersed in our version of spring cleaning. It started with last weekend’s community garage sale and concludes with the last two days of pickups for the Village’s annual Spring Clean-Up Days program on Thursday and Friday, April 26-27.   • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
