Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • The Village’s part-time event coordinator, Shauna Bohlmann, who has worked enthusiastically and tirelessly to plan, organize and host fun events for our community has left her position to return to the classroom full time. She will continue leading the planning for Family Fest. Thanks, Shauna, for all your hard work!
  • In the December 3 law enforcement, Macon County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Lilly reported that there had been several burglary calls in an otherwise “pretty calm” November. One of those incidents resulted in an arrest after a vehicle burglary in the parking lot at Best Buy.
  • Public Works Director Larry Coloni’s December 3 update noted that his crews have been busy with leaf collection, which has been a challenge with leaves frozen to the ground. Park restroom facilities have been winterized, and Forsyth Public Library’s fountain is shut down for the winter. Coloni has put in his order for road salt for the winter season.
  • The Village continues to welcome community-related photos, such as images of sporting events, the parks, a sunrise over the water tower or anything you like. As long as they are positive, respectful and pertain to the Village, we would love to see your photos and share them. Please email your photos to
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, December 17, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
