Noisemaker Drop-in

Are you a sports fan? Do you enjoy cheering for your team? Drop in to Forsyth Public Library any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 13 to make and decorate your very own noisemaker. We’ll provide all the supplies you need to create a noisemaker that is sure to make your favorite athletes feel special.

Story Time

Join us for preschool story time on Friday mornings at 10 a.m., where we’ll sing, play, listen to stories and create a craft all centered around a theme. On October 5, we’ll have Big Top Circus story time! Be sure to come back on October 12 to learn about Special Shapes. Story times are geared toward children ages 2-5, with siblings welcome to attend. No registration is necessary.

Baby TALK

Parents and caregivers of children ages birth to 3 are welcome to join their youngsters for a time of interaction through story, song and play. Grownups can share challenges and accomplishments. Baby TALK is every Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:15 a.m. No registration is required.

Tech Club

Did you know that Google provides free tools beyond email and search options? Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Calendar are all part of the services offered within Google Drive that are available to you online. Instructor Val Bock from VCB Consulting leads us through the basics of creating and editing spreadsheets, documents and calendars on Tuesday, October 9 at 10 a.m. Tech Club meets the second Tuesday of each month, and no registration is necessary.

Book Discussion Group

Food for Thought Book Group will meet Thursday, October 11 at 6 p.m. to discuss Educated by Tara Westover. In this memoir, Westover tells of growing up unschooled in a family of Mormon survivalists, but eventually defying her family and earning a Ph.D. from Cambridge University. Food for Thought is open to all adults.

WSOY Food Drive

The library is a drop-off site for the 17th annual WSOY Food Drive. Bring in your nonperishable, unexpired items any time beginning Monday, October 1. Please drop off items by Thursday, October 4 to ensure delivery to the food drive site. The 2018 goal is 1.5 million pounds, and all items received will be donated to local food pantries.
