Library Card Celebration

It’s always a good time to use your library card, but for two dozen library users, September was an especially lucky month. In celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month, random library users were awarded coupons from Casey’s General Store and given a chance to win gift cards from local businesses. Twenty-three Forsyth residents signed up for new library cards during the month, and 5,945 items were checked out from Forsyth Public Library in September.

Story Time

You won’t want to miss our upcoming story times! On October 19 we’ll have a Sandy Desert Story Time. The theme for October 26 is Monster Mash. Story times are on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. for ages 2-5. Siblings are welcome, and there is no registration required.

Baby Talk

Parents and caregivers of children ages birth to 3 are welcome to join their youngsters for a time of interaction through story, song and play. Grownups can share challenges and accomplishments. Baby Talk is here every Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:15 a.m. No registration is required.

Noisemaker Drop-in

Do you love sports? Do you want to shake things up while cheering on your favorite team? Drop into the library any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 13 to make and decorate your very own noisemaker! We’ll provide all sorts of supplies you can use to create a noisemaker that is sure to make your favorite athletes feel special!

Adult Table Games

Welcome, all kids at heart, to the library’s afternoon of games. Join us for table games and light refreshments on Monday, October 15 at 1 p.m. Have a favorite game? Bring it along! All adults are welcome.

Dance With Me

Explore music and movement with Michi Barber from the Dance Centre! Ages 16 months to 3 will engage body and mind through dance with an adult partner. Activities are scheduled for 10 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, with the next session scheduled for October 16. The event is free, with no registration necessary. All children not yet in kindergarten are welcome to attend.


 Bookkeepers Book Discussion Group celebrates its 12th anniversary on Friday, October 19 at 10 a.m. Join us for a celebration of this long-running group and a discussion of the book The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See.

Winter Wonderland Craft

Get a head start on winter crafting projects Saturday, November 10 at 10 a.m. Create your own decorative tree using a Styrofoam form and scrapbook paper, using either a winter or Christmas theme. Please register in advance for this adult craft program.
