Family Game Show

Bring your family out to Forsyth Public Library for some family game show fun on Saturday, June 29 from 1-2 p.m. Your family will be challenged with book-inspired Family Feud and mini-games between each round.Advance registration is required.

QR Code Scavenger Hunts

Our Monday QR Code Scavenger Hunts continue through July. Stop by between 10 a.m. and noon to discover a new clue at the library for a chance to win a prize! Once you crack the clue, use a device to scan the QR code. The scavenger hunts are open to all ages, and no registration is necessary.

Terrific Tuesdays

Come celebrate Christmas in July at the library by joining us for an interactive showing of Elf on Tuesday, July 2 from 2-4 p.m. We’ll follow a silly script along with the movie that will have us singing, eating candy, getting into “snowball” fights and more!

See how READiculously fun reading books aloud together can be! Ms. Susan and Ms. Alissa will be performing on Tuesday, July 9 at 2 p.m. They will act out a READiculous number of books in this fast-paced, fun program and make children’s books come alive!

Baby Talk

Socialize with other parents and caregivers of children ages birth-3 on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. These informal parent/child sessions are led by trained Baby TALK instructors and provide opportunity to share parenting concerns and celebrate achievements while enjoying books, songs and fingerplays. Baby TALK is free, with no registration required.

Story Time

Hop in for Frog Music Story Time with Rock Springs on June 28. Listen to stories, sing songs, play games and create a craft that fits the theme each week. On July 5, we’ll have Scrumptious Cookies! Then join the Decatur Arts Council on July 12 for stories and activities about families. Preschool story times are every Friday in June and July at 10 a.m. for ages 2-5, with siblings welcome. No registration necessary.

Teen/Tween Cake Pops

Ages 10 and up: join us on Wednesday, July 10 at 1 p.m., and learn to make the perfect treat for any celebration. Create and decorate your very own cake pops to take home and enjoy! Registration on Eventbrite.com is required.

Food for Thought Book Group

Food for Thought Book Group will meet Thursday, July 11 at 6 p.m. to discuss The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. This award-winning children’s book has found an audience with adults. School Library Journal notes this about the book: “Expertly operating on many different levels, this exquisitely written novel incorporates themes of self-discovery and self-worth, strength of family, the power of love, and the many different kinds of courage … Heart-lifting.” Book group discussions are open to any adult, and no registration is necessary.

Custom Candles

Personalize a set of three flameless candles at this adult craft class led by Darris Weakly and Shelly Smith. All supplies are provided, and advance registration is necessary. Join us Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m.

Zumba Party

Bring your dancing feet to the library! Join us for Zumba every Monday in June and July from 10-11 a.m. in the Community Room. From beginners to advanced, all adults and teens are welcome. Please wear tennis shoes and clothes suitable for a workout.

iDevice Basics Returns!

Back by popular demand:iDevice Basics with Tricia Campbell! Do you have an iPhone or iPad but feel like you really don’t know how to use it? Learn how to confidently navigate your iDevice on Tuesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. Whether you are new to this class or building on what you learned in June, you will leave with tips and tricks to share with your friends!
