Scholarship applications due March 31

The Community Foundation of Macon County is accepting online scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year at High school seniors in Macon County accepted at an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply as are current college students. Only completed electronic applications will be considered. The deadline for online applications is Saturday, March 31 (check individual scholarships for specific deadlines). Annual Spring Clean-Up Days April 23-27

Start gathering your junk for the Village’s popular spring-cleaning event that comes around every year at this time. Forsyth Spring Clean-Up Days are slated for the week of April 23-27. There will be additional reminders — including details on the neighborhood schedule for pickup days — in future editions of the Village Vision and on Facebook as the dates get closer.

Restrictions include: no landscape waste, oil, hazardous chemicals, paint, tires, household trash or railroad ties please. Free curbside pickup begins at 7 a.m. daily.

Blood Mobile at DCS in April

Decatur Christian School is hosting the Blood Mobile on April 20 from 12:30–4:30 p.m. DCS is located at 137 S. Grant St. in Forsyth.

Mall hosting car show this weekend

The 2018 Macon Speedway & Lincoln Speedway Race Car Show will be held at Hickory Point Mall March 16–18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free for divisions that compete at Macon Speedway and/or Lincoln Speedway. To enter, or if you have questions, call 764-3200.

The March 1, 2018, Village Vision story “Village hires Schick as new farm operator,” stated that all trustees voted Yea to approve the hiring of Chris Schick. The story should have read that Trustee David Wendt abstained, so as to not vote for an item that benefited his employer.
