Public Works meets winter challenges

As the busy season of winter weather continues so do the demands put on the crew and equipment of the Department of Public Works, according to Director Larry Coloni. In his activity report to trustees for the February 4 meeting, Coloni documented the department’s busy January.

  • Saturday, January 12: snow event, 14 hours
  • Sunday, January 13: all crew members worked, 5 hours
  • Week of January 14: most of week spent moving snow from parking lots, trails; prepped for forecast of more snow
  • Polar vortex froze water lines at Forsyth Public Library and several businesses, including Best Buy
