Three Additions Coming to Hickory Point Mall

Thursday, August 17, 2017

The Village of Forsyth is excited to welcome three new businesses to Hickory Point Mall.

Hibbett Sports, a full-line sporting goods store is set to open this fall. Decatur-based Sunrise Bakery, which specializes in Amish-style baked goods, will sell its delicacies on Fridays and Saturdays at the mall; starting dates were slated for August 11 and 12. Knockerball Max, an exciting entertainment venue, will also open this fall.

Hibbett Sports, which is based in Birmingham, Alabama, has over 1,000 stores. The company has been around since 1945.

“These additions further emphasize the strength of the retail sector in Forsyth,” Village of Forsyth Community and Economic Development Coordinator Andrew Zupkoff said. “Hickory Point Mall faced a couple of unfortunate store closures earlier this year, due to corporate bankruptcies. Just as we expected, though, the tremendously talented staff at CBL Properties has rebounded admirably and continues to be an invaluable asset to the Village.”

The Village of Forsyth, Zupkoff said, continues to aggressively seek new commercial additions by reaching out to site selectors and brokers via attendance at retail conventions and through the development of a new Tax Increment Financing district.
