Village seeks volunteer for Planning and Zoning Commission

Thursday, June 28, 2018

The Village of Forsyth is looking for a Forsyth resident to serve in a volunteer position, though one of significant importance, as an alternate member of the Village’s Planning and Zoning Commission. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall.

The Planning and Zoning Commission plays a crucial role in shaping future land use and development in the Village, by recommending to the Village Board zoning, subdividing and rezoning parcels within the Village, considering special use and variance applications, reviewing development plans, and other similar duties. Knowledge of, or previous experience in the fields of construction, engineering, real estate, local government or similar disciplines would be useful in this role but not required.

If you are interested in serving on the commission, please submit your name, address, daytime telephone number, email address and why you are interested in serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission to: Community and Economic Development Coordinator Andrew Zupkoff via email at, or in person at Village Hall no later than Monday, July 16, 2018.
